my mom likes to tell the dramatic story where 1) a boy splashed water into my mouth/nose (I was only 5 and learning how to swim). My mom was in the bathroom and then came back to seeing me semi-drowning. she yelled at the lifeguard for not doing anything. Though I do remember that.

might as well ask the expert: is there, like, an official gamer term for that thing in RPGs when you're like 3 discs in and you've gained all this experience and found all the strongest weapons, and then you have to go back thru one of the earliest areas of the game, only now it feels super-easy and the enemies are a piece of cake compared to when you started out..? or is that not really much of a "trope" at all.. Ever had that experience IRL though, like going past your old school, etc?
hi ello I know exactly what you’re talking about and didn’t really get to experience it until I was in my pre-teens cuz that’s when I actually got better at video games and could make it to disc 3 :) I don’t know if there’s a term, but I definitely felt those parallels carry over into real life~ like dang this is the elementary school where my rare pokemon cards got jacked/the school bus I was bullied on repeatedly/the swimming pool where another kid tried to drown me :) I would definitely overcome now with my ~newfound knowledge, wisdom, and power~
